KEA COUNSELLING 2026

How KCET category-based allotment works

KEA allots seats using your verified eligibility, KCET rank, choice-entry order, available seats, and the rules for that counselling round.

What KEA checks

  1. KEA verifies your category and any valid claims such as Kannada medium or Rural quota.
  2. You list colleges and courses in your preferred order.
  3. During a round, KEA considers eligible seats in that order based on merit, seat availability, and the applicable category.
  4. If a higher preference cannot be allotted, the process moves to your next eligible preference. Later rounds can change the result when seats open up.
Simple example

A student with verified 2A eligibility, Kannada medium, and Rural quota lists College A CSE first and College B ECE second. KEA considers College A first and may consider the relevant GM, GMK/GMR, and 2A seat pools. If a seat is available at that rank in a category the student is verified eligible for, it may be allotted; otherwise KEA considers the next listed preference.

This app only compares historical cutoffs. Final eligibility and allotment are decided by KEA.
